Raja Casablanca (Morocco) was charged with misconduct after its supporters threw objects onto the field and used smoke bombs, firecrackers, and lasers during the second leg of the club's 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quarter-final against Al Ahly SC of Egypt, played at Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca on 22 April 2022. The match itself finished 1-1, with Al Ahly advancing to the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate after winning the first leg in Cairo 2-1. The CAF Disciplinary Board additionally found that the stadium's capacity had been greatly exceeded for the match. The Board imposed a fine of USD 24,000 on Raja CA for the use of smoke, bombs, lasers, and the throwing of bottles, and a separate USD 20,000 fine for failing to provide the security measures required for the fixture.
Beyond the financial penalties, the Board also imposed a sporting sanction: two matches behind closed doors for Raja's next fixtures in CAF inter-club competition, reflecting the severity of the combined supporter-conduct and overcapacity findings relative to a typical single-incident case.
