CS Sfaxien of Tunisia was charged with misconduct after its supporters allegedly threw pyrotechnic devices during the club's TotalEnergies Confederation Cup fixture against CS Constantine of Algeria, played on 27 November 2024.
The CAF Disciplinary Board found CS Sfaxien guilty and imposed a fine of USD 20,000, of which USD 10,000 was suspended for a period of 12 months.
The 50%-suspended structure of this fine follows the same graduated approach seen across many of CAF's pyrotechnics-related rulings: a real, immediately payable penalty for the incident itself, with an equal amount held in reserve to deter a repeat offence within the following year.
