He has represented clients in high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes before superior courts in Nigeria as well as in domestic and international arbitration proceedings. His experience includes arbitration, and he is widely respected for his ability to de-escalate complex commercial disputes while preserving commercial relationships and minimising reputational exposure.
In the area of Labour & Employment Law, Echika advises multinationals, government agencies, and indigenous corporates on the full spectrum of workforce management and regulatory compliance. He has drafted and reviewed employment contracts, workplace policies, redundancy frameworks, and collective bargaining arrangements. He also routinely advises on employment matters arising in the context of business restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and employer-employee disputes.
His maritime and aviation law practice encompasses both contentious and non-contentious matters, including regulatory compliance, vessel registration, charter party arrangements, marine insurance disputes, cargo claims, port operations, and cabotage compliance. He has also advised on aviation leasing, regulatory investigations, and liability issues involving both domestic and international carriers.
Echika’s real estate and construction practice includes advising developers, investors, and institutional clients on the acquisition, structuring, leasing, and financing of real estate assets, as well as on construction contracts, development risk allocation, and dispute avoidance mechanisms. He has led due diligence and transactional structuring on several urban commercial and residential development projects.
In addition to his sector-specific work, Echika frequently advises clients on regulatory licensing, corporate investigations, and statutory compliance across multiple industries, including transport, infrastructure, employment, oil & gas, and logistics. He is particularly valued for his pragmatic insight and risk-conscious approach to complex regulatory environments.
